a taste of own medicine
ByI don’t know how long you have been following this blog but a couple weeks ago I put an entry called the 10 commandments of health strength and fitness. In it as commandment number 7 I wrote “Thou shalt do things you do not like.”. Well I do not like dancing. It makes me feel awkward and less like a man so I do not do it which drives my girlfriend nuts since she loves dancing. Well I recently purchased a kettlebell dvd put out by the RMAX International company which contains Scott Sonnon’s warmup and cool down for kettlebell training. Now Scott Sonnon is a trainer whom I have a high amount of respect for and in his dvd he says to “salsa” in order to loosen up the hips. He says not to let social mores effect my fitness. He is right and I will do it even though I hate doing it. Why because I am performance based instead of what is “fun”.
