beef cake
Byalright despite the name of this post i just have to say it was mostly in humor. You see there was a young girl I used to train who I nicknamed “beefcake” not because she looked like an ogre or anything like that but just as a testament to her strength. When you look at this girl something about her tells you that she had been a college athlete (I pegged her as a soccer player and I was right). Nothing about her tells you that she may be a guy or overly big or anything like that. She simply looked like an athletic girl. One of the things that separated her from others is she genuinely enjoyed seeing what she is made of and she was very strong (which is why we nicknamed her beefcake). She developed 2 favorite exercises which if I had let people design there own programs it would have been her because her two favs were the turkish getup and the renegade row. Her turkish getup was very very impressive. She was able to put up 75lbs with her dominant side and 70lbs with her nondominant side. I tell you it was quite funny when she laughingly walked out of the training room telling the “boys” what she did which put some of them in a frenzy to try and show her up and others were essentially castrated from it.
Now what can ladies learn from this? Being strong is cool and if she can put up that much weight without magically transforming into an ogre then you have nothing to fear by putting up half of that. Be strong and be beautiful.
