birds of a feather flock together?
ByThere is a saying…”You are your 3 closest friends.”
I am not necessarily sure about that. I know it is going against what a lot of the modern fitness and nutrition professionals are saying. They talk about getting social support and making sure your friends are helping you along by doing it themselves and I say this; Stop being a damn sissy.
You see your weight, fitness or health problem is not your friend’s fault…It’s yours. If you took an extra helping of pizza just because your best friend forever did its not his/her problem…it’s yours.
Why?
Because it ALWAYS boils down to your personal decisions. Do you opt for the slice of pizza? or do you go for an apple and a handful of almonds? Do you skip the training session to go watch a movie or do you bite the bullet and do some overhead presses? Life is full of sacrifices and if you are to attain what you want you have to do what it takes and stop blaming your friends…stop blaming your mother you Freudian you and START blaming yourself.
I will use myself as an example. You might think that I hang out with all fitness people but that is pretty far from the truth. There is only one that I hang out with on a regular basis (Arnel) and we don’t even share the exact same ideologies. A lot of my friends are computer programmers, couch potatoes and workoholics. I suck at computers (as you can see by how primitive my sites look), I pretty much only watch UFC and I hated working regular jobs…and believe me my job is anything but regular. None of my friends listen to Judas Priest (my favorite band) most of them have no interest in Martial Arts (I currently study at home) and I am the only singer. I detest modern day pop and the show Lost. My friends love it.
So what do my friends and I have in common and why am I friends with them? It’s simple really. We enjoy each other’s company and have each other’s backs. Thats all I have to say about that.

What an awesome post here. I always had the perception that fitness people hanged with fitness people. Boy did I learn something here. I don’t mean to stereotype but It’s something that I just thought happened. It’s nice to know that there are people out there that are not afraid to spread there wings, if you know what I mean.
