hello Jason
My rant actually was simply because I wanted to update my blog and was just writing what happened to be on my mind. Indeed there are differences in the way we press which I am probably at fault for not understanding why he was twisting. It is one of the differences in the way we do things. Now the other is people who say that "I don't know what I am doing." When chances are they have never picked up a kettlebell or used it in a manner that was halfway safe. And my attack on the AOS guy was partially a playground rules match where "they started it first". Did you notice I didn't list the hip bridge in there because of the philosophical differences? If you aren't sure what I am talking about check out their channel on Vimeo and you'll see a lot of attacks towards us. Its a matter of someone pushing someone down to bring themselves up. I push back.

Indeed there are a lot of coaches that are top of the line. I bow my head to many of them because they have a proven track record. My only point in saying that I am an RKC is the technique I demonstrate not program design which is where those coaches flourish and which is why they are successful.

I find this post odd for a couple of reasons....1) you are ranting about people (who don't know what you were doing) being critical of your techniques in these videos, yet that is exactly what you did when you blasted the guy in the AOS test video. You had a list of 7 or 8 things you found wrong starting with him wearing shoes. I get the philosophical differences of the TGU progression etc...but then you asked "what's with the twisting on presses and snatches?" You mention "physical culture" quite often, so you should know that in Arthur Saxon's book "Development of Physical Culture" there are pictures of him doing the exact same twisting on snatches and presses. The reason being for that is loading the Lats and taking pressure off the shoulder girdle, thus enabling you to do a lot more work and being mechanically efficient with it. If you do much Bent Pressing, you should get exactly what I am talking about because then, you have felt the weight transfer into the Lat.
Secondly, why let it bother you what others critique you about on the internet. You obviously hang your hat on being RKC, and seem to think that should end the argument, but you can't seriously think that just because someone has RKC behind there name they are automatically a good teacher. Conversely, I know a lot of great coaches who are not certified by anything other than experience that I would trust long before a guy who introduces himself to me a John Doe, RKC or CSCS or ISSA or NASM etc.... Certifications are nothing to hang your hat on, they are just a demonstration of a commitment you've made to seaprate yourself from the pack. How your represent that certification is much more important than just having the letters behind your name.
