fight for the troops
BySo as I write this I am watching UFC’s fight for the troops show. It really is a shame what I hear about these guys fighting over seas. According to them 1 in 5 troops coming home has come home with baggage. This is unacceptable. Earlier in the show today there was a guy who was in Marine Force Recon which is like the special ops branch of the United States Marine Corp. The man was missing a leg and in addition to that he had TBI (traumatic brain injury). Now this hit home because back when I was in high school and before 911 or any major prospect of a war I wanted to be a Recon Marine. It is partially what got me into fitness and such but an ACL reconstruction disqualified me from service. Had I not had that knee surgery that could have been me missing the leg and suffering TBI. Others I see are missing legs, arms covered head to toe in burns and its horrible. Our boys overseas suffering with these afflictions will never be the same again. The little things we take for granted like walking normal, reading and speaking normal are missing pieces for a lot of these guys. They made sacrifices for us and its time to take care of them. I am putting up a link so that we can donate. Please do the right thing. www.FightForTheTroops.com
