frustrating things as a trainer/strength coach whatever you want to call me
ByEvery profession has it’s frustrations and mine is no different. I gotta say it feels great when people get the results they are after but it also gets frustrating when…
it appears that I want them to succeed more then they do
they use stupid excuses
they try to change the program because the one I wrote “isn’t fun”
they ask for my expert advice AND IGNORE IT
eat things they know will directly influence their results and justify it by saying “I hadn’t eaten all day”
still try and spot reduce even though its physiologically impossible and I tell them that
say things like “I read it in a magazine.”
still fear getting big (the ladies that is) even though they have neither the genetics nor the testosterone to do so
Whats the lesson here? I have done a lot of research…do what I say and reap the results. Don’t do it and you probably won’t get the results you are after…but don’t come crying to me because “I told you so”

Eric, that’s true not only in fitness coaching but in all fields. I coach people in trading the market, guess what? THEY, TOO, MAKE EXCUSES! In trading, you either make money or you make excuses and find faults to blame. Same thing with fitness, etc. Your clients/trainees either DECIDE and COMMIT to get fit, stronger, or they can make all kinds of excuses. Set your compliance and accountability standards, if they don’t do it or meet it, YOU bid them goodbye. They are not meant to be in your program, vice versa. Frustration is not good for you.
I will send you later an article on similar fitness coaching matter.
Take care and ENJOY!
