how should you train?
ByWell that actually depends on what you want to get out of a training program (duh). If you want to be strong you have to go on a strength training program. If you want to be lean you should be on a fat loss program. If you want to increase your conditioning you should be on a conditioning program. If you want all of those…you need to find a way to incorporate elements from each.
Now that is a little trickier then it sounds. You see certain elements can interfere with others. For example you wouldn’t expect someone to run marathons and compete in a powerlifting event within a month because the 2 of them interfere.
So what is the happy medium?
Well thats individualized but…since fat loss mainly comes from diet you can go on a strength and conditioning program and lose fat, gain strength and get to new levels of conditioning.
Take your pick.

Hi Eric,
I finally got me some toys (16K & 24K – the 24Kilo is surprisingly heavy!) and got started on some basic exercises. I’m pretty proud of my new babies and it’s a lot of fun working with them! Do you think it is also possible to build strength AND some size? Most people in the kettlebell world talk about weight loss, some about strength training. But I haven’t found anyone yet, creating a specific plan for building size. Is it impossible? I know Vince D. has a great program but that means I would have to join a smelly and expensive gym…

yes absolutely you can
as Pavel said the complex science of building muscle can be summed up in pump blood through a muscle
anything you can do with a dumbbell you can do with a kettlebell and more

Can’t wait for his DVD to finally arrive.
And yes, food seems to be the dominant factor in bulking up. I will let you know what kind of results I get after 8-12 weeks of kettlebell training. Man, I wish I had bought two 35lbs kb instead of 35 and 53 pounds; the 53 pound baby is yet too heavy and it would be nice to use two kettlebells like you did in your vids…

you are better off with what you purchased to be honest. If you can’t handle a little bit of heavier weight you aren’t ready for the double kettlebell exercises. Give it time and you’ll get there.
