just like I thought

2 posts ago I had said something controversial and knew that it wouldn’t sit well with people. Thats the one about Diet Soda being safe.

and just like I thought I would get angry messages from people with no real evidence to disprove anything I say. His allegation was that aspartame (the sweetener in diet soda) would turn into formaldehyde when at 86 degrees. I don’t even need to use science to prove that wrong.

I’ll just use some simple common sense.

Alright since they hadn’t specified whether it was Celsius or Fahrenheit I’ll start with the latter since it is the one I use. If it were true that it did in fact turn into formaldehyde when at 86F then you had better not leave your diet soda out on a summer day. Don’t you dare let your sugar free gum stay in your pocket for more then a couple seconds because it will turn into embalming fluid. You can clearly see this quite simply isn’t the case.

So what about Celsius? Lets say for the sake of argument that it does turn to formaldehyde at that temperature. Who gives a $hit if it does? Last time I checked the Human Torch from the Fantastic 4 Comic book was a fictional character. There is no way we come even close to that temperature so why worry about what might happen if it gets to a temperature in our bodies it has no chance of getting to?

You don’t even have to be scientific…just have common sense. It really isn’t that hard people.
