more reasons kettlebells work well for fat loss
ByThere is a term in the strength training world called incidental cardio. Incidental cardio basically is when you are doing non cardio specific exercises in a way that gets your heart rate up and your respiration high. This can be seen in circuit style training where you are transitioning from 1 exercise to the next one without over fatiquing one group of muscles but without giving your respiration a chance to catch up. Another way involves high repetition ballistic movements. I will use the swing and the snatch as an example. When you do the kettlebell ballistic type exercises the amount of tension on the muscles is distributed pretty evenly on the muscles of your hips and your core. Typically people give up on a high rep set of this not because their muscles give out but because they just can’t seem to get enough oxygen because they are breathing so heavy. When you are going through this there is a tremendous amount of the natural growth hormone released in your body which has been shown to be very effective at burning fat.
On the same note it has been seen that interval training is a more effective form of cardio for fat burning then steady state. The main example of this would be the effectiveness of the Tabata protocol. Mixing lower intensitys with higher intensities etc. So you can do ballistic, grind, ballistic, grind etc. The high tension of the grinds also releases the natural growth hormone as well
Try it out and watch the fat melt off of your midsection

i’m considering to buy kettlebells: i tried that kind of ballistic movement doing swings with a dumbell and man, that’s hell of an exercise – you can actually feel the tension in the entire core.
