sigh when will they ever learn?

By admin

You know people are STILL stuck in the isolationist mentality where they think they can target individual sections of the abs and there are multiple parties to blame. Take for example this video. This video was sent to me by one of my clients because he gets these in his email box every once in awhile
Now she didn’t actually come out with the word “isolation” but the premise is still the same. Newsflash other fitness pros. You can’t “isolate” or “target” individual regions of the abs. For the simple fact that the abs are a one muscle that is actually interwoven with other muscles. Even if it were comprised of different muscles the law of irradiation says bzzzzt! wrong!

Why?

Because a muscle under any kind of significant tension will call on its neighboring muscles for assistance.

And fitness pros everywhere are negligent of that fact. Now excuse me while I go do some “non isolation” snatches….and maintain having abs even though it really isn’t that important to me…but it is nice I have to admit.

If people are sick of that “bloated feeling,” maybe they should stop eating crap! While you’re doing your isolated snatches, I’ll be isolating my hams w/ swings, my arms w/ TGUs.

I really want another six pack on top of my six pack, so I’m gonna isolate my lower abs w/ planks, my upper abs w/ planks, and my obliques w/ planks.

For recovery I’ll have a do-nut and Hershey bar sandwich and wash it down with a bottle of syrup. I love that comatose feeling the insulin spike gives me after a workout.

I’ve seen that move in different type of video. Insert your kama sutra comments here.
