stop the sissification!
ByI was training some of my early morning clients today and we happened to be looking outside at the sidewalk. There is a bus stop right in front of their house at which point I saw that there were 4 or 5 cars waiting for the bus with their kids inside in the warm car for the bus to come. Whats the matter?!?! Can’t the kids handle the cold anymore? I waited in the cold and I didn’t want to have to pull the “When I was your age I walked up hill to school and up hill on the way home.” but this is just getting ridiculous. No wonder the kids these days are a bunch of wimps. They need to be toughened up and they need it now.
Also I am reminded about 2 weeks ago I was at a party and some lady was talking about her son and what they do. She said and I quote “He is flat footed so he can’t really do much of anything.” REALLY?!?! Sorry lady I hate to be the bearer of bad news but your kid is a sissy. Want to know how I know? I am about as flat footed as it gets. When my foot is wet and I step on pavement you can see my entire footprint. I guess that it should stop me from doing weighted pistols, sprints, playing volleyball at parties, martial arts, wrestling, paintball or the dozens of other things I have done over the years. People stop making excuses for your kids because it won’t do them any good despite your best intentions. A little cold won’t hurt em and neither will a little tough love. Incidently if you have a kid that needs to get in shape there is a trainer who is world class at this. Not me I don’t enjoy working with kids bu this guy does. His name is Brian Grasso. Google him.

An interesting fact, the instructor in my gym who is a national player for Decathlon is flatfooted. He said that coincidentally, all his fellow decathletes are flatfooted.
