The Fastest Fat Loss Diet Period
ByYou know it really is a small world.
I was at a wedding over the weekend (the bride looked beautiful btw and the look of her back is testament to the fact that women should be lifting heavy because her back looked fantastic) and the next morning I was at the hotel with another person from the wedding. This was a dude I had talked to previously and he knew that I was fairly knowledgeable on fat loss training and nutrition and was telling me his friend had gotten ripped abs really fast using “some diet with a 5 day cycle where he goes to McDonald’s and eats whatever he wants once a week.”
I said to him “Is it the Xtreme fat loss diet by Joel Marion?”
“Yeah.”
Awesome! You see I have a copy of Joel Marion’s Xtreme Fat Loss Diet and it promises some big time, almost near impossible results. His plan of attack did make sense to me though but I wanted to see if it was more then theoretical. The general basics of it are;
Gorge yourself to up your metabolism. (the spike)
Create an extreme caloric deficit taking in only branch chain amino acids to prevent muscle wasting. (the dip)
Work your way back up to normal eating over the next 2 days. (the climb back up)
Repeat. (of course their is more to it then that and I recommend you check it out before trying it on your own)
This “friend of a friend” basically proved this diet works in the trenches. Great news!
If you think about it, taking the slow methodical approach I had taken with nutrition like before though it did work and I got ripped still lost 17lbs over 84 days. This approach promises 25lbs in 25 days. That is extremely fast.
At the same time look at training, steady state cardio though it can work, is not nearly as fast as high intensity interval training. Previous nutrition experts recommended the slow steady approach to nutrition. Joel Marion is recommending a sort of interval training version of nutrition. Sounds like he is on to something big. What do you think?

Hey Eric, had a question for you. First, regarding the xtreme weight loss program. What did you mean by “taking a slow methodical approach? The program is over 25day but you said that you took 84days. Did you do the same program and repeat it for 84 days? Second, when one is doing High Intensity workouts with kettlebells how long is your average workout take? In my mind i try to get in 45mins (thinking traditionally that if i dont workout for that long then i wont get results) but it seems that with the high intensity workouts you are not working out as long if anything 20-25mins. Thanks and love your website.

Hey Eric, had two questions regarding kettlebell training and nutrition. You said that for the xtreme weight loss program you did 84days to get your results. Did you follow the program for 84 days or come up with variations? Second in regards to High Intensity Workouts, how long does your average exercise last? Traditionally i thought if i dont do at least 45mins that i wont get results but with high intensity workouts it doesnt seem that you need to workout as long, is this sustainable in the long run? i.e can you do high intensity workouts daily and not get burned out. Thanks.

I didn’t do the xtreme fat loss diet. I did an exercise program that I just kind of made up as I went along and followed a strict diet. If I HAD used the xtreme fat loss diet I probably would have taken me less then 25 (instead of 84) days to drop the same amount of fat. Only one way for me to find out and I refuse to put the weight back on.

Eric, Thanks for the info. But regarding the high intensity workouts using kettlebells do you find that your workouts are not that long? As in they take somewhere between 20-25mins? Or should i be aiming for 45mins of high intensity workouts? Thanks again!

It depends on what I am training for. Lately since I am already lean I train for maximal strength which means I lift heavy and stay fresh which generally takes a bit longer then a fat loss workout. My fat loss workouts normally range between 15 and 45 minutes. Yours depends on your work capacity and what you are capable of doing. Don’t aim for an amount of time. Aim for work per time and change that to what you are capable of doing. Some of my clients train 20mins some train 45mins. Both get results. Just make sure whatever diet you are doing that you stick to it.

Eric, really appreciate the valuable information but had one last question before i begin my journey. Any books or dvds that have a lot of examples of high intensity kettlebell circuits that i can do or pick and choose from to create my own circuits so that the workouts dont become boring? Just looking for some direction as my previous questions have proven. Thanks.

Eric,
Which type of diet/dietician program did you use to lose your weight over 84 days? What ratio of carbs/protein/fat do you recommend in conjunction with ketllebell and cardio workotu routine? Like the xtremem fat loss diet do you incorporate periods of fasting, moderate carb days, etc into your diet? Thanks

I followed something called Macrobolic Nutrition. The ratio was precisely 45% low glycemic carbohydrates 35% protein and 20% fat spread out over 5 meals. That nutrition program represented what I knew about nutrition at the time. As effective as it was it was a hassle to try and get it perfect everytime. I follow more of a warrior diet/ precision nutrition type of approach for maintaining a ripped strong physique.
Xtreme Fat Loss diet is an extreme program that brings results extremely fast. It’s only meant to be followed for 25 days or less. The one I recommend is the one you can follow that represents what you need to do for what you want to accomplish.
